Looks interesting:

WARFARE GAMEMODE

Quote

Instead of capturing a small flag, the entire map is divided into capture sectors - forcing each team of 50 players to make continual tactical decisions as to where they should attack and defend.

When a sector is captured, it will generate one of three resources for your team, creating a complex metagame that will influence your push to victory.

Will the cost of spending Fuel on a Tiger tank inflict significant enough damage to the enemy to wrest control of the western flank? Will the Munitions spent on a Typhoon strafing run clear the distant hedgerows and open a path to the town of Carentan? Can the bridgehead at Feuilly be maintained without sustaining devastating losses to your Manpower?

REALISTIC WEAPONS

Quote

The 16+ historically accurate rifles, sub-machine guns, light machine guns, heavy machine guns, pistols and assault rifles are all accessible in realistic limitation. With no crosshair, a focus on realistic weapon behavior including jamming and overheating barrels, and a brutal suppression system, Hell Let Loose gets as close to the historical truth of the conflict as possible without becoming tedious or chore-laden.

Grenades, mines, mortars, heavy ordnance, anti-tank and tank rounds dismember, while flamethrowers light up the morning sky. Each one of the 14 playable roles will be equipped with a unique array of equipment inspired by their historical counterparts.

ARMOURED VEHICLES

Quote

We plan to enable several different effects upon being hit by a round (all depending on the location of the strike, and the nature of the projectile)

- Crippled (half movement speed)
- Immobilised (cannot move)
- Firepower Kill (main gun destroyed)
- Mission Kill (crew injured or killed by penetrating round but the vehicle survives)
- Catastrophic Kill (ammunition explodes and entire crew immolated)

Armour will only be able to be driven by a specified role. We have also simplified the crewing system to require two players to operate a vehicle, with optional passengers and commander positions.

Here's an in-depth Q&A with the devs - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/HellLetLoose/discussions/0/1488861734115269737/

Lot s of info on gameplay, content and other bits of the game.

This is the biggest issue for us right now:

Q. Vehicles - are there any that are working yet?
A. Not as of this moment in time, however the devs feel confident in their ability to implement them without difficulty. The first ones to be implemented will be supply and transport trucks to 'underpin the meta'

Q. While we speak are there working vehicles in the pre alpha or closed sessions?
A. No working vehicles yet. We're not particularly worried about vehicles (in terms of difficulty of implementation). Our first key vehicles will be supply and troop transport trucks as they underpin the meta. the hardest thing we're facing with vehicles is creating nice interiors for open vehicles, and track/wheel combos, as well as ironing out physics models.

So to me it seems like this game is still very, very early in development for a game we could look at for CMP campaign play.

Only issues for me is that they host the servers I think? And no mods, maps etc. as they want to have control of the content and will release new content themselves.

Means we can't use this for campaigns and so on.

I think you can run a dedicated server.

And they are looking for a clan or a community with more than 20 active players.

Hell Let Loose - Roles Summary
In Hell Let Loose, you’ll have access to 14 different roles on the battlefield, offering players unique experiences depending on their preferred playstyle.

Infantry Role
The Rifleman is the backbone of your army. Their role will consist of working closely with their Officer, pushing enemy lines from the front and providing covering fire for Assault roles as they flush out buildings and trench networks.

A Rifleman’s loadout may look basic, but it’s versatile role in battle can’t be overlooked!

Officer Role
As an Officer, you will serve as a source of leadership and strategy for your unit. Working alongside your Commander and fellow Officers, you’ll organise your unit and provide instructions on your objectives as the frontline shifts.

Machine Gunner
As a Machine Gunner, your main responsibility will be to provide heavy suppression on enemy units and positions. With a high rate of fire and a large ammo count, this role excels at holding down a field of fire from a fixed position whilst their unit pushes forward.

Automatic Rifleman
As an Automatic Rifleman, you’ll have the advantage of being both mobile and hard hitting. Fighting alongside Riflemen, Assault and Anti-Tank roles, you’ll be in a position to attain fire superiority in a skirmish to allow your unit to advance on the enemy and secure the objective.

The Anti-Tank
As an Anti-Tank, your primary goal is the elimination of enemy armour.

Whether you’re attacking the enemy tanks with your personal anti-tank weaponry in an infantry assault, setting up an anti-tank gun for zone control and stopping power, or supporting your own tanks to give them an edge in battle, you’re the infantry role that keeps tankers up at night.

The Engineer
As an Engineer, your primary goal is to hold key areas for your team.

Key tactical locations such as strongpoints, chokepoints, trench systems and urban areas are where you’ll shine. Armed with both anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, as well as a wide range of deployables such as barbed wire, sandbags and tank traps – A good Engineer can single-handedly contribute to holding back an enemy force far greater than their own.

The Spotter
As a Spotter, your primary goal is to lead your Sniper, giving them intel on enemy movements to maximise their efficiency in battle.

The Crewman
As a Crewman you’ll be spending the majority of your time on the front in a tank. Under the leadership of a Tank Commander you will find yourself either driving a tank or taking control of its armaments.

First gameplays are online

what a pixel mud. but the video and the streamer got a thumbs down first. Was not a good advertisement for the game of this stream. If its hardware can handle no Ultra HD streams then you should not put something online. My criticism is only directed at this video and not at the game itself. The game itself looks great.
