  1. I have been so far. I much prefer it as it makes the game much more intense in close combat rather than who can use the 3rd person camera to their advantage.
  2. @Papillon I should be ok for Friday's mainly until the FH2 campaign starts and maybe the odd Saturday or Sunday evening. Have sent a friend request on Steam.
  3. I'm playing a similar strategy at the moment Trying to avoid as much combat as possible until the zone is too small. Best so far is 10th place.
  4. Are you playing on the 1st Person or 3rd Person servers Pap? 3rd Person really put me off about this game (plus the damned bunny hopping), but I'm please to see they have 1st Person dedicated servers now.

  6. Imagine Company of Heroes, but with 120 people each controlling their own soldier. With 120 players on the field, manning a supply route or keeping watch is as important as building tanks and shooting the bad guys. Excerpt from PC Gamer review: "I spent three hours playing Foxhole, an isometric massively-multiplayer shooter that hit Steam Early Access today, without shooting anyone. ‘Supplies at location X’ is a constant call to action in the busy player team chat, and so I did my best, breaking down piles of salvage and delivering it to a manufacturing plant, where it was refined and shipped out by an assembly line of other players to one of several forward operating bases keeping our frontline steady. I smashed piles of rubbish with a hammer, walked over to a truck, deposited the rubble, and watched it drive away. I forgot to eat dinner that night." Read the full preview here
  7. @Druidix please do not post links in this forum to torrent sites, or sites that link to torrents, this is against forum rules. Thank you.
  8. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2, Portal 2 and other Source Engine games were all affected by a particularly nasty exploit until recently. Basically, by uploading custom assets into a custom map, hackers could use them to trigger a "buffer overflow vulnerability" which resulted in the victim PC being open to remote code execution. In other words, merely shooting at an enemy could cause your machine to be remotely hijacked. The exploit was identified by One Up Security (via Motherboard) who notified Valve. "Valve's Source SDK contained a buffer overflow vulnerability which allowed remote code execution on clients and servers," OUP's statement reads. "The vulnerability was exploited by fragging a player, which caused a specially crafted ragdoll model to be loaded. Multiple Source games were updated during the month of June 2017 to fix the vulnerability. Titles included CS:GO, TF2, Hl2:DM, Portal 2, and L4D2. We thank Valve for being very responsive and taking care of vulnerabilites swiftly. Valve patched and released updates for their more popular titles within a day."

  18. New Intel Core i7 processor breaks records with monstrous 7.5GHz overclock Gigabyte has shattered some world records for overclocking and benchmarking, after pulling off a rather spectacular overclock on an Intel Core i7-7740K quad-core processor, reaching 7.5GHz using liquid helium cooling. In fact, this was the effort of a team of overclockers led by Gigabyte’s own HiCookie, working with the 7740K – one of Intel’s beastly new Core X-Series CPUs revealed at Computex – using the firm’s own X299-SOC Champion motherboard. As mentioned, they used liquid helium to achieve temperatures of around minus 250 degrees Celsius, allowing the processor to be cranked up to a scarily fast 7.5GHz. The team also managed to post new world records for the 3DMark06 benchmark, with the CPU running at 7.1GHz (with liquid nitrogen cooling) in conjunction with an Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition graphics card, hitting a score of 71,928 (over 1,000 points clear of the previous record holder). Doubling up with a pair of GTX 1080 Ti cards in SLI, they again achieved another global top score – 71,176. A new Aquamark record was also set (737,222 – using a pair of GTX 980 Ti graphics cards) and a new 3DMark03 high score as well (356,678 using a single GTX 1080 Ti), again with the CPU at 7.1GHz. 19. Loved E3 when I went a few years ago. This was before they 'dialled down' the spending on the sets and kiosks for the show (the big publishers were spending millions on them) and got a ton of freebies out of it, as well as playing some great games at the time. Just so expensive and it's hard to get accommodation anywhere near the place.

    Hardware

Run MSI Afterburner and leave that running in the background. It's pretty good for handling your fans without messing around too much and means they're quiet when you're idling. Never defrag an SSD by the way unless you want to wreck it, only do that with your mechanical drives. You could try Windows 10 Creators update and see how you get on with Game Mode switched on. It's meant to help with the stuttering by giving less resources to background services while you're gaming. Haven't had time to test it out yet though.
