RAnDOOm Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 The latest CS:GO Beta update brings new changes to pistols, continuing on on the path of "emphasizing skillful use of the weapons". The "1.36.0.3-rc1" update, that has been released to the Beta depot, brings new changes to pistols. The Glock, which was unchanged for years, received a buff in base damage and slight buffs in moving accuracy and rapid fire accuracy. On the flip side, the damage at longer distances has been reduced, making the default Terrorist pistol even weaker in long-range battles. Seemingly balancing it out is the change to the P250, which now rewards longer range engagements against unarmored opponents. The $300 gun now has increased base damage and higher damage at longer instances, but less armor penetration and moving accuracy. It is important to note that, due to the drop off in armor penetration, the P250 can no longer one-shot helmeted opponents which have full health. Adding to that, a big change has been made to unarmored aimpunch, which is now significantly reduced, making players without a kevlar vest much more dangerous in duels. The full list of changes for 9/12/2017 Beta update is available below: [GAMEPLAY] Significantly reduced unarmored aimpunch. Additional changes to pistols with the goal of emphasizing skillful use of the weapons. Glock: Slight adjustments favoring accurate players who close the distance to their opponent. Increased base damage Reduced damage at longer distances Slightly improved accuracy while firing rapidly Slightly improved accuracy while moving P250: The P250 has been adjusted to reward longer-distance engagements, particularly against unarmored opponents. Increased base damage Reduced armor penetration Improved damage at longer distances Reduced accuracy while moving Quote

RAnDOOm Posted September 27, 2017 Author Posted September 27, 2017 The most recent Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update brings changes to the interaction between smoke grenades and flames, and lowers the prices of the Revolver and Dual Elites. The case in which dropping a smoke grenade on burning surface would not work as intended has bothered CS:GO players for quite some time now, and is now, hopefully, no longer a part of the game due to the recent updates to the smoke and flame mechanics. Alongside those mechanical changes, Valve decided to reduce the price of the Revolver and the Dual Elites by $100, making them $600 and $400, respectively. Among miscellaneous changes, we saw the addition of a new crosshair option, "cl_crosshair_t"—a T-shaped crosshair. The full list of changes in the 9/26/2017 update is available below: [GAMEPLAY] Fixed rare cases when smoke would not extinguish fire when it bounces between the flames. Reduced the height at which smoke grenades that bounce off of walls can extinguish flames. Fixed a bug where bullets could sometimes fail to penetrate player arms. Reduced price by $100 for both the Revolver (now $600) and Dual Elites (now $400). [MISC] Fixed gloves not appearing on certain custom maps that skip default equipment. Added an option cl_crosshair_t for a T-shaped crosshair. Fixed StatTrak™ music kits not showing StatTrak™ logo in limited time offers. Fixed a case where certain cheats could approximate the random seed used on the game server. Added a way to acquire a worldwide CS:GO license for accounts running outside of CS:GO Launcher. Quote
RAnDOOm Posted October 10, 2017 Author Posted October 10, 2017 Valve has revealed that a revamped version of Dust2 will be released in the next beta depot. Dust2, without a doubt the most iconic map in Counter-Strike history, was replaced by Inferno on the Active Duty map pool in early February, with fans eagerly waiting for updates since then. According to Valve, the Dust2 rework will bring "an updated, refined version" of the map, which will be available for testing in the upcoming beta depot. It could take several months before the new Dust2 version finds its way back in the Active Duty group. The reworked version of Inferno, popularly called "Infernew", was released in October of 2016 but only returned to competitive play in February, following several updates. Quote

And that enjoyment received from a game is subjective? You're not gonna win anyone over by acting like that. Quote
RAnDOOm Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 Just 24 hours after revealing that the new Dust2 would soon hit the beta depot, Valve has released the map. In February Dust2 was replaced by Inferno in the active map pool, and since then one of the most iconic maps in Counter-Strike history has been under rework and it seems to be almost done now. According to Valve, it is "an updated, refined version" but at first sight, it looks like the old Dust2 - just with new textures and minor changes. Many expected the skybox above tunnels to be removed to make it possible to throw grenades over the roof, but this is not the case for the map yet as the skybox still appears. We have collected some photos of the new map below here: A site Mid Short Lower tunnel Upper tunnel B site New models The reworked Dust2 is still in beta, making it not possible to play yet unless you go to Library and right click on CS:GO and choose Properties. Then you navigate to the Beta tab and choose to download 1.36.0.7.-rc1. Valve is looking for feedback on the map, which will be continuously updated in the coming months. Quote
