  1. Best:

-Flying after a reaaaally long time. Was fun even though the map was quite poor for flying.

-Last assault on church during the last round - initial rally point was compromised, we managed to spawn and kill the attackers and @Sir_Kowskoskeymanaged to swap rally to a great spot on the other side of town JUST in time. From the second rally, we eventually greyed and capped the flag. Great ending to a tough battle.

    Worst:

-Our inability to use our assests well enough.

    Funniest:

    - @Sir_Kowskoskey running around the map for 10 mins and then dying to a single S-mine. And no rally...

-Tried to kill Hetzer (@Airshark79) with a flamethrower and laughing my ass off for failing so badly :D

  2. Personal performance:

-Thought I did an ok job. Always room for improvement and especially my accuracy could be better, but oh well... maybe next time!

-Sometimes I should have flanked instead of running straight from rally to flag.

    Company performance:

-I guess I was a bit sleepy, but I thought we did a good job. The rally was often in a good spot and we managed to keep it alive and continue our attacks or keep up our defence. Few time we should have moved our rally quicker, but managed anyway.

-Some really nice attacks/greys. I remember us clearing that one sawmill with enemy rally inside - attacked from multiple directions and worked so smoothly :D

    Divisonal performance:

-Can't say much... Great job for a clear victory with some tough rounds! Wasn't an easy battle, but we did great!

    Medal Recomendations:

  3. Best:

-Some great inf fighting around the flags.

-Our squad assaulting a sawmill with an enemy rally inside. I thought the attack went so smoothly and everything worked like a charm :D

    Worst:

-That artillery hitting me so many times...

    Funniest:

-That artillery hitting me so many times...

-Lots of little things like hearing "enemies from north" and shooting the first guy behind a camonet - Tk'd our own SL.

-Getting shot 1second before I was about to shoot at a tanks ass with a zook.

-Hiding near a flag trying to place a rally point and getting messages that we were too close to enemy mainbase even though it seemed like it was over 100 meters away. We swapped the place maybe 4 times before we actually were far enough and then our SL simultanously placed the rally elsewhere :D

    Most loved/liked player:

-Our squad! Thought we did a great job overall, had fun and relaxed gaming evening :)

    Other:

  4. Personal performance:
Okay I think. Could have been a lot worse and I think I only tk'd once or twice :D I kept confusing east and west and called out the wrong direction a few times...maybe too few beers?

    Company performance:

I thought it was awesome! A few times during the battle we should have moved our rally quicker, so our attack would not have died out. Still, on many occasions our attacks worked very well and couple of our attacks were textbook stuff! Quick, efficient, organized - everything worked.

For defence it's always useful to assing people (or players speak out themselves) to cover certain areas or directions of the flag. When you hear someone say "I'm covering the south side" you know you don't have to worry about that direction as much and can concentrate more on your own area/direction.

    Divisional performance:

Well, we won so that's a big plus!!! The fighting was so hectic most of the time that I didn't really have time to check the map and progress of others, but the tickets tell that for us. Great job all!

    Other:

  5. Personal performance:

Not that great, but I haven't played in a loooong time and was a new map so all little things just didn't go my way like... hitting targets, finding the right flag, hitting more targets, not hitting friendlies... ;D

    Company performance:

I think overall we did just fine. Maybe in defence we could call out defencedirections more often just to let everyone know that for example east side of the flag is guarded by someone.

    Divisional performance:

Hard to say as it was a first time for the army.

Did you enjoy working for the allied:

    I sure did!

    Other:

Yey! Also sorry for late answer.

  6. On topic:

Thanks for a really nice campaing all! Great job admins and map team! Can't wait for the next one although I might miss more battles and practices in the next one due to real life business. Oh well... :)

    Off topic:
Really Daniel? We just had a successful campaing and you come here to talk shit in the End camp thread? You could act more mature that's for sure.

  7. Best:

Really intense battle all around! Those 2 rounds with so few tickets :)

Tanking in a battle for the first time in ages! It's always been fun!

    Worst:

    Can't think of any...maybe the tk's I made?

    Funniest:

Wualy! I'm sorry I kept running into you in the woods by accident. After the (maybe) 5th time I couldn't believe my good luck and your bad :D

Hellcat cruising and managed to get some nice kills :)

    Most hated player:

    People with bazookas :D

    Most loved/liked player:

    Everyone spotting enemy tanks.

    Other:

I did not flip my tank once :)

  8. I'm just trying to be helpful and as I've mentioned before - I'm bad at giving positive feedback. I tend to point out the things I think we should improve on and I understand I should try to point out the good stuff aswell... that lack of positive feedback might make me sound like an asshole sometimes, but that's not my intention. So... You did a good job Airshark! :)

While Airshark was the leading officer the entire battle last time and thus my points were directed at him, but the points I made can be meant for everyone and anyone. I think some are important points and hopefully increase the enjoyment people get from the tournament. After all, we're all here to have fun and enjoy a good teamplaying athmosphere.

And I do agree that we did a good job throughout the whole evening as a team. :)

  9. Battle #: 5 Argentan

Performance of Self: Tired as hell, short temper and inaccurate, but other wise ok I guess. Did manage to get some tanks down and enemy SL's on defence.

Divisional Performance: No idea since I didn't have CC on, but seemed like most of the time we held our flags together and did have some cooperation between regiments aswell. We won, so overall we did just fine.

Regimental Performance: Most of our attacks worked well, but there was some failed attacks aswell.
In defence we're still chaotic and people do not say what they're doing. We can do better and coordinate/organize more. Knowing the flag also helps. Panzer HQ had 8 entrances to the flagzone and we could have been able to defend those, if we just organized it more. (There was one spot where a MG could see 4 entrances and kill anyone approaching the flag for example) Defending inside the flagzone wasnt the optimal choice here, but luckily for us they didn't attack us in force.
In attack I still don't understand why we insist on moving into flags as a small group. One well placed nade/smine/tank/MG could kill our whole squad, if we move as a small group. It's better to spread out and attack from different routes. The enemy has to guess where our rallypoint is, when we attack from multiple directions.

Officer's Performance: Airshark was there for the whole battle and did an ok job overall, but I have to say some things. I hope you take these as constructive criticism and not as personal attacks.
-Officers should never ever never lose temper, when someone doesen't do what they're asked, 5 seconds after you give an order. Maybe the player you asked has an enemy in their sights? Maybe they saw some movement or maybe they heard something - You cannot know and you should trust the players to act smart and give them some time. Seriously, do not start shouting 5 seconds after the order that why someone isn't doing what you asked. Officers are supposed to be the players with the most cool heads that never get angry. You should lead by example and you showed a crappy example for the second battle in a row.

-Please do not change the orders every minute. I know it's not always the regiment officers fault...

-Whoever is squadleader shouldn't be wandering around the map fraghunting when there's a possibility of losing our flag.

-Suicide spawns are often a waste of tickets and there have been rounds during this campaing that we could have lost, because of too many suicides. Yes, sometimes suicidespawning can be very useful, but I honestly didn't notice the need to suicidespawn in the last battle... or actually, there was few situations where it could have been useful, but those times we did not use it. You wanted us to suicide when there wasnt anything important or anything that required fast action. Waste of tickets.

-Officers are the ones that ensure everyone in the army has a good time and enjoy playing. You should rotate people doing different things, so some players do not end up defending for 4 hours straight while you go on attack with AL-SAHAD. We all know AL-SAHAD is a great player in both offence and defence and we all like to win, but there's many players in our army who also enjoy attacking and are good at it. Keeping up the morale is the officers job.

-This is a teamgame and we have a lot of experienced players among us - have some faith and trust the players. Showing initiative and independent thought isn't an attack against your leadership position. Also, I just want to mention that while I haven't played a lot with your Airshark, you might not know that I've been playing in tournaments for over 10 years and basicly held all ranks from private to general, so I'm not just some rookie trying to tell how everything is done, so I hope you don't take these as a personal attack, but as helpful tips for what we could do better. Teamplay is how we will win this and we need good morale to play better.

Additional notes: ShadowNick, you're one battle behind with your Battle # numbers :)

  10. Battle #: 4 Northwind

    Performance of Self:

After almost 2 week break from playing and not having time to check out the map before, I'd say I did good: I flew the whole time except a few times I spawned at flags while waiting for plane. Against Haloal and ROIOR in good planes the dogfights were really intense and hard. Luckily sometimes I did get AA support and Inlifex in the P47. If the axis ever get a plane with rockets or multiple bombs that can destroy more than one tank without reloading - we really really need to improve our AA work.

    Divisonal Performance:

I don't know what happened, but the first rounds went ok, but then suddenly we lost our edge completely and sometimes felt we couldn't get anything done. I didn't have CC on the entire time, but it did seem very quiet in the last round atleast. I only flew the P47 few times during the battle, but I didn't get that many tank spots. People still don't realise that the ingame spotting is bugged and they do not work 100% of the time for everyone. We need teamspeak spotting - there is no way around this issue.

    Regimental Performance:

Again, the first rounds went well and then just started going badly. I couldn't really keep a track on how we did on the ground since flying was basicly all I did, but it seemed we were able to hold our flag quite well.

I'd like to share my point of view on the micromanagement thing:

In defence: Micromanagement is good when people do not communicate or take initiative themselves. In defence we need spotters, we need to cover the flagzone, we need to guard the ways into the flag. If no one takes initiative and says "I will guard east entrance" or "Guarding the flagzone" then those jobs need to be assigned by an officer. We need micromanagent while defending to get ourselves organized and an organized defence is deadly for the enemies. Smart players can take initiative, look at the map and find a spot unguarded and then say it on TS that he's gonna do it. If this doesen't happen, officer should do it. In short: Organized defence is the best way and we need micromanagement to do it, but personal initiative and communications are very important for it to work.

In attack: Micromanagement is not as useful. Getting an order to run straight into the flagzone from rally (200-300m distance) is suicide for our squad and our rally. We will expose our rally by running straight from there to flag and really soon the enemy will know where we're attacking from and have more and more people guarding that direction. Running in as a group might work sometimes, but NOT all the time. A well placed MG wipes an entire group of people if they're in a small area or attack from same direction. We have to mix it up and keep the enemy guessing. In short: In attack I would only micromanage the attack directions. Have 1-3 guys flank north, 1-3 from south, rest attack straight in and then trust the players are smart enough to get to the flagzone while killing enemies and staying alive themselves.

    Officer's Performance:

I was too concentrated on flying, so can't really comment.

    Other:

The shouting during battle. Stop that crap... I couldn't hear anything while people were arguing. You should argue after the battle and never during it... I had to mute TS for a few times, because I couldn't hear enemy planes at all.

If orders change too quickly, then there's no way of completing the orders. No use shouting about it.

  11. Best:

-Intense battle for the whole evening. :)

-Oh the dogfights! The P51 had a slightly better turning rate compared to ME109, but against 2 great pilots in good planes. God damn that was hard and I loved it :D

    Worst:

-The restarts. Did we find the reason for the dissappearing flag spawnpoints?

-Viewdistance again. Hard to look for enemies especially on the ground. :)

    Funniest:

-Yeah, Haloal and ROIOR flying into each other twice in the same round :D

-Me crashing into a tree and right after that Inlifex says "Yeah, I saw that! Happens to the best of us!" - I was laughing off mic for a few minutes :D

-That one time I shot at a jeep and only killed Kowsky in it :D

-I also crashed into a tree when I tried to strafe a P4 near the big factory - good thing is I never hit the 3 big chimneys :D

  12. Battle #: 2

    Performance of Self:

-I had fun on the ground, but only played one round there. I think I did a decent job defending, but we didn't get that much action during that round. I did manage to spot some enemy jeeps assaulting our flag.

-I sucked in the air. I got really weird lag with the Spitfire and it made my day even worse...

-Also I forgot what was my CC chat key and I didn't check it... sorry for sometimes spamming the TS channel with "can someone say on CC that..."

    Divisonal Performance:

-We won, so good thing there.

-Communication on enemy tanks/movement is still really "unstable". Some rounds there's many spots and the next we don't see any. The point of spotting enemy tanks and telling that information to others is to help everyone in our team. Every player should be concerned about enemy movement even if they're on the other side of the map. Of course most players don't have CC, so they won't hear everything, but officers job is also to relay relevant information from CC to his squad. I want to stress the issue that ingame minimap spot just isn't enough - it's buggy and everyone will not see the spot even if you yourself see the enemy tank flashing in your minimap!!! We use TS for a reason and it is to tell others of the enemy movement quickly and reliably. Also most of the time during a battle, teamchat is quiet, which means it's a really good place to share enemy locations.

Spot ingame - say it on TS -  teamchat the location.

Even if you don't see the enemy tank, you are able to say is it near a flag of ours. When you die from an enemy tank you are able to tell on TS where you died. Everything helps our anti-tank people.

-Felt like we rarely had problems getting to flags, but had really tough figthing on some flags and actually capping. Just wanted to point out that good job on getting to the flags! :D

-Assets that we didn't use. Arty was empty too often in some rounds. We can't leave great assets unused. Partly this map wide open and we should have been using our tanks all the time aswell, but I saw many empty tanks aswell.

    Regimental Performance:

-I think we did great. Always room for improvement.

-The only "negative" thing that comes to mind was the lack of Smines on an easily defendable flag like monastery.

-Also, read the recon threads. Ammoboxes are marked on them ;) Remember you can also reload infantry weapons at normal trucks! It's a mobile ammobox for infantry!

    Officer's Performance:

-I gotta say @Watchtowerdid an awesome job. Clear and short orders, well organized in defence, you rotated people in defence/attack/scouting. Really great job! That's how it's supposed to be done.

    Additional notes:

-Sadly our P40 was the worst of the 4 planes on this map and it was really easy to kill for the axis planes. I hoped it would have been more helpful in anti-tank work, but it wasn't good enough. Of course this has a positive side: the P40 didn't spawn that often because the ENEMY was bleeding! :D

  13. Best:

-Map felt quite balanced. Most of the rounds were really tough fighting, with flags changing sides quite a lot and it didn't seem either side had the upper hand on anything. Great job on that!

    Worst:

-I got this weird lag while flying the spitfire. It seemed like I was skipping frames when turning and it was annoying as hell... I sucked with planes today anyway, but that made it even worse :D (I didn't get the same lag with the P40, which made this even more weird...)

-Again I didn't realise how short the viewdistance is for planes... I don't like maps where it's a matter of pure luck running into an enemy plane :(

    Funniest:

-Harmonikater shooting me down during a 2vs2 dogfight and then crashing into my wreck.

-Someone shot me with the 88 and killed (I think it was) Haloal aswell at the same time. It's really rare to see a double kill with the 88 :D

-Once again I was fraghunting and did a suicide while killing an infantry... I really should stop that.

-Prozac with the M13 Halftrack... :D

    Most hated player:

-You know I don't really hate you, but ROIOR and Haloal! Awesome dogfights, but you really kicked my ass today :D

    Most loved/liked player:

    -Ombustman for spotting enemies!

    Other:

  14. Battle #: 1

    Performance of Self:

-I suck with AA guns, but I did manage to kill a few enemy planes. I might be getting old, but I sucked with the spitfire aswell - I had great opportunities to kill enemy planes, but I just couldn't get the hits on them. It got frustrating for me in the end...

-That one awesome round with great enemy tank spots and @Harmonikater covering my ass most of the round. Seemed like everything worked together that round .

    Divisonal Performance:

-A hard battle which we won!!! Great job everyone!

-We had a few great rounds where I could hear orders, enemy spottings and everything else quite clearly. Other rounds we did really poorly... We need to get our communication to a good level throughout the whole battle - it has to be consistent all hours. All officers and NCO's have to know how our army should communicate on CC. I don't remember who was in the artillery, but I especially remember him saying something like "where the hell are all the spots? earlier we had it working great!"

-I often heard things like "enemy tank in E3", but the grid was huge and the viewdistance short so it made bombing/strafing really hard to start. Once I had a personal view of the enemy, it became easier. (Personal view = I had to fly over the area and see the enemy myself. With an effective enemy AA, that would have been suicidal!!!)  I understand that locating the enemy precisely is hard, but everyone should atleast be able to tell where the enemy is from the center of the grid. Is he near the middle? Near the eastern edge? South? North? Anything helps - don't be afraid to call out directions.

---NOTICE!!! When you spot someone ingame - NOT EVERYONE will see it. Spot it on the minimap, Say it on TS, Chat it on Teamchat!!!---

-Just an idea: We often have 2-4 minutes time between rounds. What if we have quick roll calls for who is on, who can/wants to do what etc.? Important roles needs to be filled, and they need to be decided on divisional  level. _IF_ that was done during last battle, it was confusing and it needs to be more clearly. I must admit that myself, I could have said on CC that player#1 is flying the spit, player #2 is taking spotter and so on... because of that all squad leaders would have known WHO was flying the fighter bomber and could have talked to him directly. I am new here and I do not know all the voices, so it might just be a personal problem for me - so do not take this personally in any way :) I just mean that when someone says "caeno, caeno, bomb something in xxxx" I most likely will react to that more quickly than "pilot, take out that thing!" But I really do understand that, we have a big organization and remembering all names is hard. That is why practices are important! Join them people! This whole thing is a group effort and we can kick the Axis ass by teamplaying!

    Regimental Performance:

-I can only say my opinion from the air. But, some rounds felt chaotic. I emphasize the word felt. While defending it can help to say who is doing what. Are you guarding south entrances? Say it out loud. Are you covering the flagzone? Say it. Are you scouting certain area? Say it. Simple and short communication to let everyone know that some area is covered, so other players don't have to worry about that area until said otherwise.

    Officer's Performance:

-I'm not sure how well infantry can respond to  squeadleaders orders, but for the most part orders felt clear. Clear and to the point, which was  exactly what we needed.

    Medal Recommendations:

    Additional notes:

    We won! :D

  15. Best:

-Nice numbers and a really even battle!

-Great dogfights with ROIOR and @HaLoAL and some nice teamwork in the air and AA on both sides.

    Worst:

    -My luck

-Viewdistance, for some reason I didn't notice how really low the viewdistance was for planes until the battle...

    Funniest:

-My luck: first full round I played in I got shot down by enemy Artillery ( @TAFKAP), by a tank when I was in full speed (@Ledernacke) and atleast 1 one-shot kill by @Ensign_Steel + a few really great burst kills from him. It can be soooo frustrating getting killed with such bad luck multiple times in a row. :D Of course I know you're all good players, but shooting a plane with arty, tank or one shotting the pilot are quite rare and for all those to happen in the same round... I couldn't do nothing but laugh about it afterwards :D (I did spam squadchat with my frustration during the round...)

-I kinda felt bad for strafing @sch@mpus off the Marder and leaving the tank intact. Waiting about a minute for him to get in it again and then strafing him again :D

-Me crashing the spit atleast 2 times due to terrain around our airfield

    Most hated player:

-Peace and love to all! ;)

    Most loved/liked player:

    - @Airshark79 gave so many awesome spots on many rounds - helped a great deal when hunting enemy tanks.

    Other:

-Lets keep advertising and maybe we can hit that 100 players during battles :)

-Maybe I'm getting worse, but the cannons on the spitfire felt so weak... :D

  16. We get a P40 with a bomb on bleed. It's priority should be to take down tiger right away - I'm sure we can get the plane up, "hide" for a while and then take out tiger once it's spotted. Another good thing is that the P40 can strafe enemy tanks with it's .50cal machineguns. It's hard to do in battle, but it's still possible. Every tank/vehicle "below" Tiger can be strafed.

Iirc the axis fighter is better than ours, which means we need teamplay with AA and planes, to get it down.

We get a Mobile AA gun which is awesome, but all of our normal halftracks are pretty crap in AA support. None of our halftracks or armored cars have a 360 degrees machine gun on top, which makes it really bad for AA.

Good thing is that the map is big, open and should be easy to spot incoming enemy.
