Druidix Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 (edited) I'm a bit surprised nobody talk about it, so for those who missed it yesterday, the replay of the Falcon Heavy first flight. I felt a mix of excitation and tension, it was a strange feeling. That was a fantastic moment. And, I don't know, seeing this car flying in space with earth in background... it makes me "think"... Well done Mr Musk ! Edited February 8, 2018 by Druidix 1 Quote

kummitus Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 We had a bit of chat in Discord regarding this The picture of the two rockets landing was quite amazing as well. Quote
Ensign_Steel Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Watched it live with a friend. The synchronized booster rocket landing was wonderful and I got some really strong Heavy Metal vibes from the whole Tesla in space thing. Did the 3rd rocket land successfully? Never heard any news about it. Here's that Heavy Metal scene I was talking about. 1 Quote
Druidix Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 The core had not enough fuel, so only one engine was working. It touched water at 500km/h, 100m away of the ship. A bit too fast Quote

Druidix Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 100m for something which was 100km higer is still very impressive. I've seen that last week they landed one rocket on the water, that was not completly intentionnal but it seems it works. So maybe with more fuel it could have been save Quote

I've seen them pull off water landings before. Quote
