This week I have had great weather and great internet. Unfortunately Friday's forecast is thunderstorms all day. I may not be able to attend the battle. I think Spindrifter will be back.
If neither me or Spin make it someone here should step up and lead.
Everyone in the company is qualified for this position. Basically you just say "roger that" to whatever HQ says, then you do what you think is best anyway.

Pretty good stuff Proz4c. Some of those tanks should watch north or south to catch the enemy with a side shot. In the D3 position, for example, you could stay below the ridge and shoot them as they pass to the north.

Sorry I was not able to attend the battle. I have been struggling with my rural internet connection the past tow weekends. I hope to have it sorted out next week(fingers crossed).
I want to thank Watchtower for leading the company in the round I dropped in at. If someone else took the lead, I thank them too.
Hopefully, y'all got some good experience playing the same map over and over again. That's how we do it. If we didn't win(did we?), let's learn from our mistakes.
See you at practice.

Battle #: Scrim #1
Performance of Self: Not too good. I had network problems.
Divisional Performance: Not bad. Though we lost every round, they were not blow-outs and some were quite close. All tournament veterans know that is rare. Blow-outs in scirms are the norm. We were usually outnumbered BTW. The competitiveness of this scrim bolds well for the quality of the coming campaign. Hopefully it will all be close tense rounds instead of the common alternating blow-outs.
Regimental Performance: I am quite pleased. We defended pretty well and capped a few flags. We made nothing easy for the enemy. Of course there is room for improvement, namely we need to be quicker in our tasks. We must: set RPs quickly, move in pairs to facilitate that, respond to different orders promptly, move out efficiently. What we did in this scrim will be the rule through the campaign. We will always have 2 or more tasks going at any one time. E.g. attacking while defending, anti-tank and tank support, air support, spotting, arty, etc. We will do it all and do it all, all the time. The quicker and more efficient we do it the greater the chances of team victory.
Officer's Performance: Spindrifter was basically the captain today and performed very well.
Medal Recommendations: None for scrims
Additional notes: Our focus this week needs to be increasing numbers.

WELCOME TO THE 175TH INFANTRY REGIMENT
On 4 June 1944, the regiment boarded the LSTs which would carry them to the beaches of Normandy. Following a 24-hour delay, the 115th and 116th Infantry assaulted the beaches on 6 June. The 175th, the 29th Division's reserve, landed on the still unsecured Omaha Beach on the morning of 7 June, and proceeded to its objective to seize the village of Isigny. It pushed through Isigny and crossed the Vire River and on to St Lo. The 175th fought stiff German resistance hedge row by hedge row. The 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry pushed the American lines to within three miles of St Lo, creating a salient into the German lines. The unit defended the high ground, known as Hill 108 but nicknamed "Purple Heart Hill" as they were surrounded on three sides.
The regiment was rotated into the division reserve for the final thrust into St Lo. The 175th fought in Normandy until the end of August when the division was moved to Brittany to participate in the capture of Brest and the German submarine pens located there. Following the Battle of Brest, the division was moved to the Netherlands to participate in the 9th Army’s drive to the Rhine River. The regiment played a significant role in capturing Jülich followed by the occupation of the industrial center of Mönchengladbach. The regiment was moved to occupy the lines along the Elbe River near Felberg. On 2 May 1945, a patrol from 3-175 Infantry made contact with elements of the 28th Company, 6th Guards Cavalry of the Russian army. Following the surrender of the German army, the regiment remained in Europe until 1 January 1946.
Officers of the Regiment:
GeoPat
Has served in many campaigns in different communities. He has several times been a captain or other officer as well as an enlisted man. He is a strategic thinker, always keeping in mind the "big picture". He knows when it is prudent to dutifully follow orders and when it is wiser not to. He welcomes disadvantage as challenge and doesn't give up attempting difficult tasks.
Spindrifter
Has also served in many campaigns. He too has been a captain and other officer. He is an avid public player. You will often find him on the public server leading a squad with VOIP. He is well liked by all who play with him. He is a proven organizer and commander who will keep the company on task.
Important rules and information below:
- The tournament rules should be clear to everyone. If you have any further questions, just ask in the forum or send a PM.
- You can find all software requirements for playing along with <Insert Link>.
- The command chain must be followed and respected; it has proved to be very effective in the coordination of the troops on divisional, regimental, and admittance; if everything goes like clockwork,
- The nicknames in Teamspeak are the rank and must always be kept current: 175[29ID]Rank|Nick (you can see your current rank from the Roster). The ingame nicks remain static. Only the prefix "175|29" you have to register and log in with your usual game account. So it looks like: 175|29 Nick
- Intentional team kills are prohibited, no matter how creative the reason is.
- The regiments are purposeful. As a member of an infantry regiment, you should not drive a heavily armored vehicle, or fly a plane. Only the transport vehicles assigned to us are at our free disposal.

Battle #: 1 Faid Pass
Performance of Self: OK, I guess
Divisonal Performance: Pretty good performance for a first battle. This map is pretty hard I think. We need to continue to improve communication and coordination. I particularly don't like how CC goes quiet toward the end of lost rounds. This is a bad habit. Since we probably wont have well-attended practices, we should use every moment in battle to practice working as a team.
Regimental Performance:
I was quite pleased. By the end of the day, we had up to 3 squads; fought at every flag; manned tanks, planes, and arty; and even hosted Spanish speaking Axis troops. Not everything went perfectly but we adapted to most situations given some time. I think we were only driven off flags by overwhelming numbers. Not a bad first battle. We will only get better.
Officer's Performance: I was more than pleased with Spindrifter's performance leading the second large squad. His squad contained many new members and they were given tough flags to defend and assault.
Medal Recommendations: Give me your recommendations.
Additional notes: We will usually have a tank per squad every round. We need more willing volunteers.
