The problem with the newer battlefields is not the game itself IMO, but the community that gets saltier and saltier. But that is a thing I cannot only see in the battlefield series, in nearly every game I play the community grows more strange in the last years. It is like every second guy only wants to put his anger into the game and on other players... and is not playing the game because he likes it, but only to let off some steam.

Not to get into any specific political discussions, but people generally get increasingly more angry, stop talking and start yelling at each other. Video games one of very few "safe" ways to blow off steam, which in turn makes communities playing them shite.

It is places like CMP to keep up old style communities, but even here there are lot's of frictions as I heard (also, don't want to discuss specifics).

What is a problem now, is that people are getting estranged. I started playing in FH2 tournaments quite a few years ago first because I was curious and then because I met some awsome people, with whom I could talk on TS or at least share views on forums. Now, except for the furm here, I didn't experience much casual talk on CMP TS. Granted, most of you guys know each other back from FH and this makes me as ex-WaW person more difficult to fit in. Still, there was much talk about lack of communication on the allied side this campaign, but I get a feeling that people ignore one important thing. In order to have good tactical communication, people should be used to talk to each other in general, know each other voices and engaged in small-talk. As a person who used to live in a real backwater, it was awsome to me to be able to talk with someone from across the globe about a hobby, history, or other interests. The best way to build every community is to base it on interaction such as this. And this is what is generally lacking, though I still hope there will be a way to bring it up.

Sorry for going a bit off-topic here, but I do see a relevance in my ramblings when it comes to playing BF, espcially as it becomes more and more "single-multi player game," because you may be playing with other people, but you are not playing in an actual TEAM.

Hey, Ronid! Glad you joined us. Now our first "Campaign" has ended, so we're preparing for next one, which should come up in a week or two. Everyone who's in regiment (including you :) ) will be noticed via PM. Don't worry, people here are kind and will surely help you to learn, if you need anything in particular feel free to msg me, I'll try to help you as much as I can!

Thank you Tutvys! Will do when I will have some questions.

  3. Hi guys! Got Arma III on recent sale and was wondering if there is a chance for a total noob to play with you sometime (haven't played Arma ever, but am willing to catch up asap).

  4. Battle #: 8

Performance of Self: not bad. comms from my side were failing at times. managed to take out few enemy tanks.

Divisonal Performance: good. not staying with same tactics as in previous battles I played. we had some pretty close rounds, which shows that there is much improvement already. tank support could be a bit better next battle.

Regimental Performance: ok, but there is still much to improve. Geo urged us to be more present on comms with which I strongly agree. rp placement is still a huge problem. co should always notice when rp is gone and reset it more often.

Officer's Performance: if comms are failing make sure to get people talking. ask us what's happening etc. use our nicks. in most of the campaigns I played as CO or HCO I always stressed the importance of knowing people you are playing with, that is being able to assign nick to voice on ts at the least.

Medal Recommendations: ugh... always hated that part. i suppose qufic for being the most eloquent no-mic player in the team.

    Additional notes:

  5. Performance of Self: was assigned to "div squad" - 4 players, 2 semi--active and me. managed to grey one of the flags few times and at least kept enemy occupied. also found good spots for rps

Divisonal Performance: at one point we had clear advantage in numbers yet we still lost. that's your answer

Regimental Performance: I was assigned to div squad, so I don't know

Officer's Performance: HCO arguing and ragequitting, no flexibility with orders --> seriously, looking at the map div seemed to attack in same patterns over and over again

    Medal Recommendations: Axis HCO

Additional notes: If you want to know more, read my Div Mess Hall, not much to add above what is there

I have a friend who want to join our battles, but as soon as he try to go on the servers he crashes to desktop instantly.

he has FH2 and it all up to date, we have innstalled the maps on the right places and checked for updates and run the repair tru the comunity updater, we olso run Fh2 as an administrator, it still goes stright to desktop when trying to go online, we have olso runned the maps on local and they worked,

Any tips on what to do?

    Thanks

Try downloading and installing PunkBuster manually. If this doesn't work check if the game is not blocked by some firewall.

  7. Performance of Self: bad (lack of sufficient communication), didn't say "hi" nor "bye," which was rude of me

Divisonal Performance: from grunt's perspective - bad. it seems that limited kits were not assigned per team, but free to take for who was first. this should change asap, especially on maps with more powerful tanks. i think there was lack of coordination between teams, but this is something that may (and should!) improve as we'll get to know each other.

Regimental Performance: bad. there was no communication, we did not inform each other about enemy's whereabouts. at times we did not talk at all, which i find always bad, talk about weather, talk about news, talk about shit, but when there is no talk, the team is falling asleep. we did not manage to reset rps often enough. lot's of confusion. at times lack of clear orders.

Officer's Performance: Spin, I like you. as far as I remember you were one of the officers in my division back in WaW, but please be a little bit more talkative. try to keep troops on their toes, do some pep talk if needed (yes, it does work sometimes).

SUGGESTIONS: 1. Next battle, let's introduce to each other before the start. It will help to fit in-game nick with a voice.

    2. Communicate more. Prioritize enemy spotting - tell where were you attacked or where you saw enemy (example - west of flag, by an at gun). If you found some interesting pick-up kit or ammo box, inform others.

    3. Try to evade enemy, especially tanks until reaching flagzone.

    4. When we have more than 7 guys, consider splitting into two squads. Assign people, don't ask for volunteers. Second squad should in this case switch to waiting room asap.

    5. CO - give out clear orders. Repeat them if you see that your troops are not following. Share your plans with us.

    6. CO - if you are not SL make sure to designate someone, be specific. Also always pair up someone else with SL for quick RP option. Don't ask for volunteers, give orders instead.

    7. HCO - if we have limited kits, assign them evenly and be strict about that unless you want your troops to be repelled by panzers.

    8. EVERYONE - if you can't attend training make sure to check the map on your own. Even if it's just few minutes, it's better than being thrown into unknown.

I'm listening to Alex Jones,  What do you mates think of him?

A good introduction to Alex Jones:

In short, guy is 100% crazy, because if this is acting then he should get an Oscar.

Also, if you like podcasts without any main theme, but with awesome guests (not celebrities!) Rogan is the guy.
