    Welcome to the Panzer-Batallion 8!

You are now part of the Panzerwaffe ("tank weapon") branch of the 25th Panzergrenadier Division. Ahead of you lies a responsible task of operating the Schwergerät ("heavy device") of the division, providing vital support to our Kameraden in the infantry and fending off enemy tanks. Often, close rounds will be decided by the action of single tankers, by their behaviour, movement and ability to be on the right spot on the right time. Know the essentials of tank combat: Be wise, be smart, be sneaky, don't be too reckless, never show the enemy your side or back, never move in dense areas without infantry support or spearhead into enemy territory too far without your flanks being covered. Flank the enemy tanks if possible!

    About the Division

The 25th started as an infantry division formed from Swabians and Bavarians. It participated in the Polish Campaign and the Battle of France. In late 1940, it was reorganized as a motorized infantry division and took part in Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union, in June 1941. It was attached to Army Group Center and fought in the Soviet Union for two years before being reorganized as the 25th Panzergrenadier Division in June, 1943. After another year of heavy fighting, the division was almost destroyed near Minsk during the Soviet Operation Bagration in the summer of 1944; the survivors were reorganized at the training area at Mielau (in modern-day Poland) as the 107th Panzer Brigade.

In September 1944, 107th Panzer Brigade participated in Operation Market Garden as part of LXXXVI Corps of the 1st Parachute Army.[1] The Brigade had been re-routed from Aachen to Holland and went almost imidiately into combat at Nuenen against the American 506th PIR of the 101st Airborne Division and the British 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars of the 11th Armoured Division.[2] (This action is dramatised in the television series Band of Brothers )

In November 1944, the brigade was upgraded back to divisional status at the Baumholder training area and re-numbered back as the 25th Panzergrenadier Division.

The new division moved to France in the area of the German / Luxembourg / French border at Sierck-les-Bains, where it fought a delaying action against the US Third Army, until December. It was then moved to Bitche. There it fought on the Maginot line fortifications at Forts Ouvrage Simserhof and Ouvrage Schiesseck, under the command of the XIII SS Corps and Obergruppenführer Max Simon.

After the US Seventh Army's offensive operations were halted in December as a result of the German Ardennes Offensive, the 25th was pulled out of the line and re-organized near Zweibrücken. It then took part in Operation Nordwind, along with the 21st Panzer Division. Together, these divisions were to exploit the penetrations made by either the XIII SS Corps in the west, or the LXXXIX and XC Corps in the east, with the intention of cutting the US Seventh Army off from the 1st French Army. It was then sent back to the eastern front to defend against the Soviet attack on the Oder north of Berlin, most of the survivors managed to escape to the west and surrendered to the British or Americans.

    Important rules and information below:

    • The tournament rules should be clear to everyone. If you have any further questions, just ask in the forum or send a PM. The rules can be found here
    • The command chain must be followed and respected;  it has proved to be very effective in the coordination of the troops on divisional, regimental and squad level; if everything goes smooth, there comes success, and with success comes the fun!
    • The nicknames in Teamspeak include the rank and must always be kept current:  8[25.PGD]Rank.Nickname . Your rank abbreviation can be looked up here. The ingame nicks remain static. Only the prefix " 8[25] " you have to register and log in with your usual game account. So it looks like: 8[25]Nickname
    • Intentional team kills are prohibited, no matter how creative the reason is.

  3. Performance of the Division: 1st round was ok, 2nd round was an nightmare ...., last third of the battle turned better.

Performance of the regiment: 1 Man Tank Unit, was trying to do my best. At the last 2 rounds i got help from Achtungsnow(tank and inf), Pap(inf and scout) and Quicksilver(tank). thx for playing well and your help!

Gameplayer was here, but left the after the 1st half of round no.1, because of performance probs. there is nothing you can do. thx for trying it!

Except of WolfXL nobody used the "leave of abscene" thread. Where was the rest of our tank unit ?

I was counting with you tanker guys.

Performance of the officers: Wualy did an awesome spotting job. well done! thats how it works.

Performance of yourself: Rock'n roll, but we tankers are just able to support our inf. but the battle got WON by caping Flags from our fearless infantry.

    Medal recommendations: ....

Additional notes: AGAIN: JOIN TRAININGS, otherwise we will loose every battle.

  4. Performance of the Division: we had good and bad moments. on minimap the attacks looks sometimes a little chaotic. but we will fix it !

Performance of the regiment: under the fact of heavy bazooka rocket rain, we tankers tryed to do our best. i think it was good under those circumstances.

Performance of the officers: Wolf was allways leader of the situation and did a good job.

Performance of yourself: It wasn't my best night or performance. you will see the old ledernacke with fresh power next battle.

Medal recommendations: I will discuss this with Wolf.

    Additional notes: JOIN TRAININGS !!

  5. Best:

shooting down the spitfire (caeno) with P4F2 maingun and saving our stuka

    Worst:

    no1.

    it wasnt my best day.

but the chickens got count on the evening. so payback in upcoming battles.

    no2.

    range AT spawn kits

    Funniest:

caeno was strafing my tank a couple times until the tank got 1 lifebar left.

at the moment he will start his final strafe, a bazooka rocket fly's in and stole caeno the kill.

Performance of yourself: I dunno. I asked my Pzkpfw VI (Tiger I) skills in Mess Hall so give it here?

    hey gameplayer,

it was quite good. i think you didnt lost the tiger for a single time.

for playing-style it could be a little bit more aggresive, but this depends allways onto the current situation.

i would say, it was good !

lets enjoy some further rounds with this big steel cat in the upcoming battle's.

  9. Performance of the Division:

for the 1st scrim ok. Communication between units could be better, example when flags got attacked or going down.

    Performance of the regiment:

overall, good. we did our job. in the upcoming days we will know each other better.

well played from gameplayer and janizki.

    Performance of the officers:

i think wolfxl was allways on the sujuk side of life and leader of the situation.

    Performance of yourself:

would be interesting to hear that from you.

    Medal recommendations:

    none, because scrim.

    Additional notes:

enjoy the vienna schnitzel from calf.
